Enough Already

Eight weeks from mid-term elections and I’m already tired of the negative campaign commercials being run on television.

It appears some where along the line election politics has become more of issue of how effectively to run a negative campaign than creating new ideas for which candidates will be held accountable.

Those elected on the basis of an effective negative campaign never seem to articulate their ideas in any depth and, therefore, don’t offer anything to be held accountable against.

When that happens, as it did two years ago with the current administration and Congress, the result is an unmitigated mess.

Those who run negative campaigns assume we are all idiots.  They use fear, sound bites taken out of context and third party shrills to deliver the message.

Do yourself and everyone else a favor come this November.  Ask your candidate what they are going to do, how they are going to do it and when will it be done.  If they can’t answer those questions they don’t deserve your support.
