Where Did the X-Box Go?

Does your child have an X-Box, PS3 or any other gaming console that seems to occupy an inordinate amount of time?

Have you ever taken privileges away and watched what happened?

Amazing, isn’t it?  Kids anymore don’t know what to do unless they are plugged in.

Next time you have the opportunity to force them to unplug, do it.  See how long it takes for the first “I’m bored” comment to emerge.  If it is within an hour then it is time to begin reprogramming their time.  If it doesn’t then use the opportunity to reprogram it anyway.

Play a game, read a book, talk, reconnect.  It will do them and yourself some good.
